Nigerian Volleyball Federation President Musa Nimrod hailed the FIVB’s decision to admit three African nations to the World Championships.

Nigeria qualified for the 2023 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Under-19 World Championship in Croatia and Hungary after placing third at the 2022 CAVB Volleyball Women’s Under-19 African Championship in Abuja.

The FIVB Women’s Under-19 World Championship 2023, which will take place in Croatia and Hungary from August 1-11, 2023.

In a statement signed by Yiting Cao, Project Manager of the FIVB Volleyball Department; The FIVB congratulated Nigeria on qualifying for the U19 Women’s World Championship.

The statement advised Nigeria to confirm its participation, complete the attached registration form and return it by February 3, 2023.

Nimrod said the championship will help develop young players who are in the best shape of their lives.

He said: “Cameroon and Egypt placed first and second respectively at the CAVB Volleyball Women’s U19 African Championship 2022 2022 in Abuja, where they booked their tickets for the World Championship.

“The space granted to Nigeria by the FIVB means we can showcase our talents to the world in Croatia and Hungary. The players may also have the opportunity to be selected by scouts from foreign teams.”
