The Northern Democratic Movement for Good Governance (NDMG), a political group, has called on Nigerians to support former Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar to become the next president.

According to the group, if patriotic Nigerians, regardless of their tribe and religion, support Atiku and secure his election victory, he will rescue Nigeria from the current state of stalemate.

The group also praised the heroic decision of popular social critic and former All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential campaign manager Hajiya Na’jaatu Mohammed to leave the ruling party.

In a statement issued in Kaduna on Friday by the group’s coordinator, Mallam Danladi Bashir Abu, NDMG urged Nigerians to consider the need to enthrone competition over narrow and parochial interest in choosing a new leader for the country.

Abu, in the statement made available to journalists, urged those who continue to support Tinubu in leading the country to rethink, saying the former Lagos state governor has demonstrated a lack of good mental and physical health necessary to be able to steer affairs. of the country, as well as their dented records.

He said: “We hail Hajia Najaatu Mohammed’s patriotic decision to not only talk about the true state of Bola Tinubu’s health. We also congratulate her on taking that bold step of getting rid of Tinubu and her group.

“Your action is a patriotic movement that should be praised by everyone, especially those who have love for the homeland in their hearts.

“However, while we commend her, we also call on those still at the other end to see the need to rescue Nigeria from the current mismanagement that currently plagues her and join the Atiku bandwagon.”

The group added that what the country needs right now is a mentally and physically fit leader to steer it away from its current path of underdevelopment.
