Obasanjo, Clark’s Obi backup en route to Tinubu victory – Keyamo
All-Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council spokesman Festus Keyamo, SAN, has said the recent endorsement of Labor Party presidential candidate Peter Obi by former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Edwin Clark has only cleared the way for May your party win the next election.
He said the various endorsements spell only doom for the People’s Democratic Party as the various components that gave the party second-place votes in the 2019 election are withdrawing.
Keyamo, who is also Minister of State for Labor and Employment, gave these projections on Tuesday when he appeared on Channels Tv Politics Today.
He said: “I think today we can say with confidence that the PDP campaign has collapsed. The PDP as a party has also collapsed. The various components of the party in 2019 are the ones that withdraw from that coalition. Nothing has affected APC.
“If you look at 2019, all the components of that coalition that they formed both inside and outside the party against APC have practically collapsed. PANDEF supported Atiku 2019, Edwin Clark is a member of PANDEF, Ohaneze, Afenifere and Middle belt forum also supported Atiku in 2019.
“What is happening now is that the PDP has been torn to shreds, internally by the G5 and we hear that there is a G1 governor and also party supporters in 2019, the party has imploded from within.”
The spokesman who is currently on vacation in the United States added that the mention of Peter Obi is exciting news for the ruling party.
“The various factors that we have now that have altered the political terrain are Peter obi and Kwankwaso, they were the components of the PDP in 2019. Those are the two factors that have altered the political terrain.
“We can confidently say that the PDP wheels have fallen off internally. I do not take the opinion of what some of my colleagues are doing by condemning Obasanjo. I’m excited for Obasanjo’s endorsement against Atiku and Peter Obi.
“Obasanjo’s endorsement is not against APC but against Atiku because he endorsed it in 2019. If you heard what Nyesom Wike said, it’s a tragedy that your ex-boss, who should give you a passing grade, decided to endorse another person. In other words, Obasanjo endorsing Atiku in 2019 was for Peter Obi.
“Right now, Obasanjo has followed Peter obi out of the PDP into the labor party, same for Edwin. What is this effect on APC is that it made the path to our victory clearer? Now it is obvious to us that we are sailing towards victory, ”he concluded.
