Edo State Governor Mr. Godwin Obaseki has said that the responsibility of the state government is to enrich the people of the state, noting that wealth creation correlates with the development of cities across the state.

Obaseki said this during a chat with reporters in Benin City, the state capital on Tuesday.

He said, “I urge more people to invest in Edo State. As a government, we will do everything we can to provide support to reduce the risk taken by entrepreneurs in the state. We will continue to provide the infrastructure, power and security to allow investors to succeed.

“There is now enough traffic in the state following our development progress and the conducive environment created for businesses to thrive in Edo State.

“We are strategically located and a link to other parts of the country and this is a unique advantage for us and we are using it effectively to grow and develop our economy.

“As a government, it is our responsibility to enrich our people. There is nothing wrong with being rich as we must have a change in our thinking. The richer the people, the more developed the cities. As a government, our goal is to enrich our people.”
