Sportswriters advised the state government to improve the state’s sports facilities.

SWAN In a statement after its January Congress held at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Kuto Abeokuta advised Abiodun to improve the state sports facilities.

The Association added that the state must partner with them for effective and successful hosting.

“Congress urged the state government to begin seriously preparing for the 2024 national sports festival celebration while at the same time calling on the state government to partner with the association to ensure a successful celebration,” the statement read.

Sports journalists further said that the state government should improve the facilities of the MKO Stadium in Kuto, Abeokuta and other facilities in the state.

“Congress noted the continued coverage of the popular stands at MKO Stadium in Kuto, Abeokuta, and urged the state government to go one step further and improve facilities at the stadium and other stadiums across the state.” the statement continued

Ogun State won the bid to host the 22nd National Sports Festival during the closing ceremony of the 21st edition in Delta State.

Ogun State beats out five other states to win the right of accommodation with Oyo State on hold if the entry state fails to prepare.

Youth and Sports Minister Sunday Dare confirmed Ogun State as the next host of the biennial sports event at the festival’s closing ceremony in Asaba.

The state hosted the festival in 2006, which was ranked as one of the best in the history of the game.
