Victor Osimhen has been ranked among the five most expensive players in the Italian Serie A by Football Benchmark, a soccer statistics website that provides in-depth understanding and analysis of the soccer business and market values ​​of thousands of soccer players.

The Nigerian international is the fourth most expensive player in the Italian top flight at 80 million euros (approximately N38.1b), the Naples daily Il Mattino reported.

At the top of the list is AC Milan’s Portugal World Cup star Rafael Leão, who is valued at €90m, followed by Inter Milan stars Nicolò Barella (€83m). and the winner of the 2022 World Cup, Lautaro Martínez (81.5 million euros).

Rounding out the top five is AC Milan’s France national team Theo Hernandez (€79m), who started the World Cup final against Argentina on December 18.

Osimhen’s stock is 12.5 million euros more than last September, when the season had just started, going from 67.5 to 80 million euros, which is the largest increase of any player on the list.

The 2015 Under-17 World Cup winner has seen his stock rise after impressive performances for Napoli this season with nine goals in 11 appearances to top the scoring charts in Italy.

Osimhen has two and a half years left on his contract with Napoli, joining from Lille in 2020 for a club record €70m.
