Naples has named Victor Osimhen’s goal celebration among the best for 2022.
Osimhen has much to celebrate in the year ending after making a full comeback from a freak cheek fracture that required surgery and kept him out of the Africa Cup of Nations in January.
The 24-year-old welcomed the birth of his first daughter in October and soon after became the most prolific Nigerian footballer to ever play in Italian Serie A.
The former Wolfsburg star currently sits at the top of the league’s scoring charts as his nine goals are unmatched or surpassed by any other.
However, Osimhen’s celebration of two of those goals has received special recognition after they were nominated for the club’s end-of-year awards.
In the first, Victor Osimhen and Frank Anguissa engaged in a beautiful dance routine after Napoli scored a goal against Hellas Verona. On the other hand, Osimhen went into wild celebration after scoring the winning goal for his team in the away game against AS Roma.
That goal itself is in the running for Napoli’s goal of the year award, while Osimhen has one of his two assists from the 2022-23 season up for the assist of the year award.
