Osun State Governor Senator Ademola Adeleke joined Nigerians in thanking God for another year, stressing that her administration is committed to ensuring people-centred development at all levels of the state.
Governor Adeleke noted that the current government’s vision is to enthrone technology-based agribusiness growth and address the infrastructure deficit with a labor-intensive, home-based, and cost-effective program.
“For our people in the diaspora, we are opening the state for partnership in education, health, trade, investment and technological innovations. We are creating the environment conducive to multiple cooperation to put our state on the world map of development”.
The governor said that in the campaign for a new Osun state, he will be fair and lead an inclusive government.
“As I noted in my inaugural address as governor, the election is over. Now is the time for all of us to come together to move the state forward. I am the Governor of all the people of Osun and I will serve the state with a spirit of brotherhood, equity, transparency, responsibility and fear of God.
Governor Adeleke said in the past month that his administration had laid a strong foundation for sustainable governance of the state, reform of various sectors to block revenue leakage and stop the diversion of state assets, as well as repositioning the civil service to professionalism is also ongoing. .
While congratulating the people of Osun State, Governor Adeleke called for the full support of the Osun Indians, domestic and foreign, for his administration to speed up the development of the state.
He prayed that the new year under the umbrella of Almighty God would bring peace, harmony and further development for Osun State and its people.
Furthermore, the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon Adebo Ogundoyin, has called on Nigerians to pray fervently for a smooth and peaceful transition from one civilian to another in the year 2023.
In his new year message, Hon Adebo Ogundoyin said there was a need for Nigerians to raise their voices in prayers to God for a peaceful and prosperous new year.
He pointed out that the events ahead in the year 2023, especially the general elections, are crucial and important for the nation, hence the need for more sincere pleas.
” Happy and prosperous new year to all of us. May the Lord bless us in the new year 2023 and grant all our prayer requests for us and our beloved nation. The upcoming general elections this year are another test for our democracy. The peaceful and successful conduct of the election determines the sustainability of the nation’s democracy and the future of our country. Therefore, we must all play our part to ensure that the country is not embroiled in a post-election crisis or avoidable political turmoil that could spell doom for the nation. “
Congratulating the people of Oyo State on the start of another 365 days, the Speaker called on state residents to reciprocate Governor Seyi Makinde’s good gesture and performance by voting for all PDP candidates in the elections.
