From Lateef Dada, Osogbo
Osun State House of Assembly Speaker Timothy Owoeye said Thursday that Adegboyega Oyetola will return as governor before July 5 this year.
He said this at the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Office, Osogbo, during the inauguration of the state Presidential Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Noting that the supreme court on July 5, 2019 declared him (Oyetola) the winner of the September 2018 gubernatorial election, Owoeye said that the supreme court will rule on the ongoing matter before July 5 this year. and will return Oyetola.
“You will remember that the Supreme Court declared Oyetola the winner on July 5, 2019. The next one will not be until July 5 and Oyetola will once again be governor.
“They think they can fool us. We thank God for the BIVAS who revealed the secret. It can be seen that they cannot name anything.
“Tinubu is moving across the country and someone sitting on Adamawa or Anambra says they want to get power,” he added.
Owoeye also debunked the rumor that some APC lawmakers are moving to the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), saying “none of the APC members in the assembly will go. There is no vacancy in the Osun assembly. What they are saying is pure politics. APC members stand strong. Nobody is going anywhere,” he stated.
The immediate former governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, who is the state coordinator of the campaign council, inaugurated other members and tested them to embark on a vigorous campaign to ensure victory for all APC candidates in the upcoming general election.
He said: “Asiwaju is a pioneer and a leader par excellence. Once he identifies a problem, he not only solves it, but also creates an institutional framework to ensure that problem does not occur again.
“Our presidential candidate is not only a problem solver, but he is also a genius, a roadmap designer and implementer who, with little or nothing, changed the socio-economic fortunes of Lagos State.
In their separate statements, the former lieutenant governor, Mrs. Titilayo-Laoye Ponle; the former Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole; Former Police Affairs Minister Alhaji Jelili Adesiyan, among others, urged party loyalists to remain resolute in the collective quest to secure the party’s overall victory in the upcoming general election.
