The Oyo State Police Command on Tuesday removed the three mutilated bodies of youths who were killed by as-yet-unidentified persons in Ibadan, the state capital.

One of them was decapitated, while vital organs were extracted from the two remaining bodies.

When contacted by phone Tuesday, state police public relations officer Adewale Osifeso said the removal of the bodies was in the public interest.

Osifeso said: “Yes, the bodies were removed this morning (Tuesday). It was done in the public interest, public safety and to prevent the spread of the epidemic. The investigation has already started and updates will be provided accordingly.”

Our correspondent’s checks revealed that an unpleasant odor had taken over the place before the arrival of the policemen who took the bodies away.

A commercial driver, Abdulfatai AbdulGaniyu, said: “I saw the lifeless bodies in the morning when I was transporting passengers from Ojoo to Toose. The case looks like a ritual murder because one of them was beheaded.”
