Former Governor Shehu Shema’s faction of the Peoples’ Democratic Party in Katsina state held a rally in favor of the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, on Sunday.

The rally cum campaign was led by immediate former Katsina State PDP Chairman Salisu Majigiri, who also represented the former governor at the event.

PDP leaders from the state’s 34 local government areas also attended the rally which took place in front of one of the PDP offices located along Faqachi Quarters in Katsina.

Speaking at the event, Majigiri told party leaders and members that the rally was organized by Alhaji Atiku to further sensitize the people of the state about the upcoming general election and called for people’s support for him.

Majigiri said the former vice president would win in Katsina state, adding that the alleged party split in the state was a leadership issue that would not affect Atiku’s chances at the polls.

He said: “We are here to campaign for our president. We are here to campaign for our candidate, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku. I assure you that Atiku will win the state of Katsina. Our presidential candidate knows who he is genuinely for, and he knows that we are. That is why our leader, His Excellency, the former Governor, Lawyer Shehu Shema, is organizing all efforts for Alhaji Atiku to win the General Election. We will organize another rally for him. We know that Insha Allah, he will win.”

Majigiri, who is also a candidate for the PDP House of Representatives for Mashi/Dutsi in the upcoming elections, insisted that the people of katsina knew that most of the flagship projects in the state were undertaken and delivered built by the PDP government. .

“Katsina would reciprocate the kind gestures of the PDP and vote for our presidential candidate in the elections,” Majigiri said.
