Following several reports of physical and financial challenges besetting some members of the Professional Footballers’ Association of Nigeria (PFAN), the main players’ union headed by Tijani Babangida, MON, has established a strong 4-man task force to help improve some of the challenges. .

In a statement from the National Secretariat and signed by the PFAN Secretary General, the Wellbeing Working Group has Dr. Mohammed Ogidi, Chairman, Pius Ndubuokwu as Secretary, Aminu Yusuf and Moses Kpakor, as other members.

The appointments approved by the president of PFAN, Tijani Babangida, which are effectively immediate, have the following terms of reference; to recover debts owed to players by clubs dating back 10 years; negotiate better working conditions for professional players within Nigerian leagues; study and review the contracts of professional players, as well as ensure that professional players obtain adequate legal representation; to broaden its scope as they see fit to achieve the general interest of better welfare for the Nigerian professional footballer.

To help the task force fulfill its mandate, PFAN Chairman Tijani Babangida MON has directed General Secretary Emmanuel Babayaro MON, OLY to write a letter of introduction to the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) and the Interim Management Company (IMC), in order to facilitate the work of the working group.

While congratulating the members of the Task Force, Babangida praised its composition as the best any organization can boast.

“This is a high-quality task force, boasting of its Chairman, who is a senior EFCC official, as well as other distinguished members including renowned legal luminaries and, of course, a football icon and professor. academic. While thanking the task force members for their sacrifices for the Nigerian player, Babangida also asked them to do a very professional, thorough and transparent job, as well as involving critical stakeholders at every step.

The PFAN Wellness Task Force will determine your modus operandi, even though you are expected to submit documented reports of your progress every fortnight to the PFAN Secretary General.
