The candidate for the presidency of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has arrived in the United Kingdom along with the party’s stalwarts for a meeting scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday with the British Government.

The PUNCH had previously reported that Atiku’s media advisor Mazi Paul Ibe announced his trip to the UK in a tweet on Sunday, adding that it was at the invitation of the British government.

While debunking an online report that he was flown to the UK for a medical check-up, his campaign spokesman, Senator Dino Melaye, urged Nigerians to “ignore the lies of unrepentant liars”.

“Atiku is 100 percent fit and in excellent shape, health-wise. The British government invited the main presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, just as they had invited Bola Tinubu and Peter Obi before,” he added.

In photos that emerged, he was greeted by Melaye, Timi Frank and other PDP members.
