Benue state Governor Samuel Ortom said on Monday he had canceled his medical vacation to step up the campaign of the People’s Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate in the state.
Ortom also added that the party will work tirelessly to dismantle the “forces of evil” against the state.
The governor made the revelation while addressing the PDP caucus meeting in Makurdi, the capital of Benue state.
This is how he said he would work around the clock to educate the public about the evil determined to take over as the state’s plum.
According to him, “I was supposed to embark on my medical vacation, but I canceled it and decided to stay behind so we can all fully embark on our campaigns for the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Titus Uba and others.
“We will go to every LGA in the state and all of our candidates will fully participate. After that, we will divide into groups and embark from house to house. Candidates for Senate will lead in their districts, as will candidates for the House of Representatives and State Assembly.
“I will not leave our gubernatorial candidate alone; I will be with him. The election is about the soul of the Benue State, and no evil man will come forward in any form in an attempt to take over the Benue State; we will crush them.
“I am mandated to hand over my mantle to someone I trust to pick up where I left off. So I commit myself both in my prayers and physically to stand against any evil force. I will support our gubernatorial candidate.”
It will be recalled that with the rise of the Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, as the APC gubernatorial candidate in the state, the ruling PDP has lost sleep.
