Oyo State House of Assembly Speaker Adebo Ogundoyin has called on Nigerians to pray fervently for a smooth and peaceful transition in the 2023 general election.
He made it known in his New Year’s message.
Ogundoyin said there was a need for Nigerians to raise their voices in prayers to God for a peaceful and prosperous New Year.
The speaker said that the general election was crucial and important for the nation, adding that there was a need for Nigerians to increase their prayer.
He added that the 2023 general election would be another test for the current democratic government in Nigeria.
“The upcoming general elections this year are another test for our democracy. The peaceful and successful conduct of the election determines the sustainability of the nation’s democracy and the future of our country.
“Therefore, we must all play our part to ensure that the country is not embroiled in a post-election crisis or avoidable political turmoil that could spell the downfall of the nation.”
