PORT HARCOURT – Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has again expressed his tacit backing for All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate Ahmed Bola Tinubu in the race for Nigeria’s next president.

With a week to go until the long-awaited 2023 presidential election, Wike said on Saturday he supported the APC governors’ insistence that power must shift in the center, adding there was no need to tell Rivers’ people who to vote for. as president under the circumstances.

Seemingly hitting the PDP presidential candidate for undermining Rivers’ electoral value for his presidential bid, Wike reiterated to Rivers’ people: “We won’t vote for anyone who has no interest in our state. So you don’t need anyone to tell you who to vote for.”

On the qualities that put Rivers’ PDP gubernatorial candidate Siminaliayi Fubara ahead of others in the race to succeed him, Governor Wike said: “He (Fubara) is a very humble person, very committed and he will not disappoint. to the people of Rivers.

“He’s not the talking type, but the working type. He couldn’t have accomplished so much and then support someone who won’t do better than me. He was the State Accountant General and has followed all our work in this state.

“And we needed someone to pick up where we left off and consolidate our gains. That’s why we refuse to bring those buccaneers looking for something to grab. We want the State to continue on the path of development, of progress”.

To PDP candidates running for legislative office, the governor warned: “I want to be clear, if any of the national assembly candidates misbehave when they get to Abuja, we will teach them a lesson as we are teaching some of them. they are serving now.

“Let me make it clear to you. If you follow these traitors, we will put a curse on you, so that you suffer as they are suffering.
