The Revenue Mobilization and Fiscal Commission office complex in Abuja

The Revenue Allocation and Mobilization Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) has introduced software for electronic data collection that will be used to revise the horizontal revenue allocation formula.

Commission Chairman Mohammed Bello Shehu stated this in Abuja on Monday at a forum to brief state and local government officials on data management.

Mr. Shehu explained that the initiative was to migrate from manual to electronic data collection, whose software would serve as the source of their data bank.

The President of the Commission also affirmed that the initiative was part of the constitutional mandate of the commission that establishes that “the formula and the principles must be in accordance with the current realities.”

Chris Akomas, federal commissioner and chair of the Rates and Disbursement Committee, called on all state and local government personnel present at the event to pay close attention during the program to ensure sustainability in data collection and management. collected.

Our correspondent reports that the seven-day ‘tool program’ is a constitutional mandate empowered by the commission that would not cause any delay in the allocation formula by the Federation Account Allocation Committee, FAAC.
