FC Lorient have turned down Southampton’s offer for Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi.

According to Sky Sports, Southampton made an offer of around £15m for Terem Moffi, but the French team turned it down as they believe the striker is worth more.

Lorient is understood to want a fee of around £20 for the 23-year-old striker who has eighteen months left on his contract.

Moffi has impressed in the French top flight this season, scoring 10 goals in 15 appearances.

Saint’s manager Nathan Jones is an admirer of the striker and if Lorient refuses to drop the asking price, Southampton will be happy to look elsewhere.

Celtic striker Daizen Maeda has been touted as an alternative to the Nigerian striker.

Maeda has three goals in as many games for Celtic since returning from the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
