Afeez Aremu described St. Pauli as his “second family” after agreeing to a contract extension with the German Bundesliga 2 club.

Aremu agreed to a new contract, after three seasons. He joined St. Pauli from the Norwegian First Division club, Ik Start.

“Hamburg has become a second home for me and my family, so I’m happy to continue playing for St. Pauli for years to come,” he told the club’s official website.

“I want to thank the club for its support and trust, which I intend to repay with good performances.”

Meanwhile, St. Pauli sporting director Andreas Bornemann is delighted that the club were able to lock the midfielder into a new contract and avoid seeing him leave as a free agent in July 2023.

Aremo has been a key figure in the team, playing regularly every season.

He has made 48 league appearances for Fabian Hurzeler’s side, with twelve this season.
