Taiwo Awoniyi has expressed his excitement on social media after meeting popular Nigerian rapper and head of record label Olamide.

The 25-year-old Nottingham Forest forward took to his official Instagram account to share photos of himself and the YBNL boss after he apparently attended Asake’s concert in Manchester.

Taking to his official Instagram account on Wednesday, December 14, Awoniyi posted photos of himself and the music superstar holding up an official Forest club shirt featuring his number 9 shirt, writing: ‘Creation of legend’.

Awoniyi missed the 2022 World Cup along with the Super Eagles team after they failed to qualify for the FIFA World Masterpiece this year.

Olamide ‘Badoo’, as he is affectionately called, recently performed alongside his label signee and Nigerian Afrobeat sensation Asake at their recent concert at Manchester United.

Earlier this year, Olamide was presented together with bad boy timz on EA Sports FIFA 23 VOLTA Soundtracks for their collaboration ‘Skelele’ making its debut on the iconic playlist.

The 25-year-old Nigerian international has featured 13 times for the Premier League returnees this season, scoring three times during the term.

He has also started two of three club friendlies with Nottingham Forest in the middle of the World Cup break, but was unable to find the back of the net in any of the encounters.

Forest fell 2-1 to Stoke City in their first friendly of the break, before falling to Greek clubs Atromithos Athens and Olympiacos 3-2 and 1-0 respectively.

Steve Cooper’s men currently languish in 18th place at the top, having collected 13 points from 15 games so far this season.

Awoniyi is expected to return to action for Nottingham Forest in their final friendly of the World Cup break, when Forest travel to Mestalla to play Valencia of the Spanish League on Friday 16 December 2022.
