The traditional leader of the Obosi community in the Idemili North local government area of Anambra State, Igwe Chidubem Iweka III, has revealed that he and the community know the identities of the killers of his town’s union leader.

PUNCH Metro had previously reported the gruesome murder of the community’s General President, Ike Okolo.

Speaking to reporters in his palace, the monarch said that he himself, as well as members of his cabinet and other law-abiding indigenous people in the community, knew they were the same notorious cultists who assassinated the general president of the union Obosi town, Ikechukwu Okolo, in cold blood on 2 January, creating tension in the area for two days.

He argued that the cultists’ activities have become so inexplicable that the law-abiding Indians of Obosi no longer sleep with both eyes closed, to the point where they kill and maim people almost daily.

Igwe Iweka said they have forwarded the names of the bandits and violent cultists to law enforcement for arrest, questioning and possibly stopping their nefarious activities in the area.

Speaking further, the monarch appealed to the state governor, Chukwuma Soludo, and the heads of security agencies in the state, including the police, DSS, Army and Navy, to rescue them before these deadly cultists remove all citizens, particularly now. that the royal cabinet along with the city syndicate have submitted the names of the bandits to the law enforcement agencies.

However, state police public relations officer Tochukwu Ikenga told reporters via SMS on Wednesday that the killers had not yet been arrested, adding that investigations were still ongoing.
