“We are united and excited that the state of Cross River is in a dark place and we are going to get it out for ourselves and the general of our children and all the people of Cross River.” he said.

He stressed that the misrule of the ruling party in the state has also placed the PPD in a good position to win all elective positions in the general elections.

He denounced the deteriorating state of the infrastructure in north Cross River, where the party was launching its campaign, noting that it was a tragedy since the governor was from the area.

“We are here to tell people to keep hope alive and that a new regime is coming. We will tell them that we will do for them what the APC government did not do.

“We are here to let people know to keep hope alive as new leadership approaches and that we will do what should have been done while also thanking you for your support in advance because we know you will vote for us.

“The north is indeed our stronghold. It is the APC that is trying to break it. We are reclaiming our state. We voted for the governor and he ran away with our mandate and we are taking it back.

“We are prepared to regenerate, revitalize and reinvigorate Cross River. We will completely clean up the processes and completely move away from the decadence that we have seen as a people and the darkness that is palpable and everywhere.

“We are very serious about it and I say it with a full sense of responsibility, trusting in God that his grace upon us is sufficient.

“The legitimacy that we are going to derive from our people would drive us to make sure we reposition our state for real growth and development beyond the drama we currently see,” he said.
