Bayelsa state governor Douye Diri has said the Peoples’ Democratic Party wants the party’s five aggrieved governors to return to the PDP.

Duoye said this when he met with Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki and his Delta State counterpart Senator Ifeanyi Okowa on Tuesday for more than three hours to strategize and secure PDP victory. in the next presidential elections.

Speaking on the position of the G-5 governments (Nyesom Wike – Rivers, Samuel Ortom -Benue, Seyi Makinde – Oyo, Okezie Ikpeazu – Abia and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State), Governor Diri said the party was not He ruled out arguing with them to persuade them to come back, support and work for the victory of the party’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

“We want a united PDP and every time we meet, we focus and discuss unity. We do not rule out talking to our brothers even today, we have also discussed the possibility of talking with them to return to our party.

“We call on our brother governors to be part of their own party and work in unity with everyone else. We still want our brother governors to come back so we can visit them the same way we visited our brother Governor Okowa who by the grace of God will be the vice president of Nigeria,” Diri added.

Leaving the meeting held at the Delta State Governor’s residence in Owa Alero, Delta State, Governor Obaseki said the meeting was to congratulate the party’s vice-presidential candidate and wish him well in the election.

We are here today to visit our brother, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, Delta State Governor and candidate for Vice President of the Popular Democratic Party in the 2023 presidential elections.
