The Governor of Ondo State, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, has stated that the fight for the southern part of the country to produce the next president must continue until it is realized.
To this end, Akeredolu urged people to vote for the All Progressive Congress presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in the presidential election, in a spirit of fairness and equality.
The governor said this on Thursday in Akure, the state capital, while receiving former Transport Minister Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, who was in town for the Office Staff presentation to former Finance Minister Chief Olu Falae, as Olu of Ilu Abo, in the Akure North Local Government Area.
Akeredolu explained that since “Buhari from the North is spending eight years, it should be the turn of the South to produce the next president for another eight years.”
Thanking the former minister for being in Akure to honor Falae, the governor said that no APC loyalist can forget Amaechi’s role as general manager of the party’s 2015 presidential campaign.
He also praised the traditional ruler, who was once secretary to the Federation Government, saying Falae had served Nigeria very well and the state is proud of him.
He said: “Chief Falae has served this country creditably and we in Ondo State are very proud of him. He left the bank; he became Minister of Finance and also served as Secretary of the Federation Government. So he has done the best he could and until now, when he is less busy, he will find time to advise us”.
Earlier in his remarks, Amaechi thanked Akeredolu for recognizing and uplifting Falae, describing him (Falae) as one of the few Nigerian elites who are prominent, patriotic and have served Nigeria diligently.
