Tinubu/Shettima Independent Campaign Council Chairman Rauf Olaniyan has said 90 percent of the vote in the Southwest should go to All Progressives Congress candidate Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election. .
The immediate deputy governor of Oyo State directed the electorate to ensure that the other contender got up to 25 percent of the vote in the region.
Olaniyan said this during an interactive session with members of the APC Presidential Campaign Advertising and Media Council in Oyo State under the chairmanship of Kehinde Olaosebikan.
According to a statement made available to journalists on Wednesday, the interactive session was aimed at formulating synergy between the Tinubu/Shettima grassroots independent Campaign Council he founded and the CCP Media Team in Oyo.
“When people talk about Muslim-Muslim ticket, we know that Tinubu will not play ethnic or religious cards. No other presidential candidate should have 25 percent of the vote in the entire Southwest,” Olaniyan said.
He went on to state that his group would collaborate with the team led by Olaosebikan to promote the joint Tinubu/Shettima ticket.
He said: “Having had the opportunity to meet the members of your team, I have to say that I am very impressed with your caliber and career path. I am also impressed by the wealth of experience and depth of knowledge that you have managed to gather here.
“I want to let you know that I won’t be bothering to form a separate media team for our Independent Grassroots Campaign Council; this team of yours will serve as the bona fide media team of our campaign council.”
He urged the team not to forget to work for the Folarin/Okunola candidacy to enable the APC to win the Oyo State gubernatorial election.
“I must also take this opportunity to stress to you and your team that there should be no discrimination in the level of support and commitment given to the promotion of the Tinubu/Shettima ticket and the Folarin/Okunlola ticket. In fact, all APC candidates up to our House of Assembly candidates should be equally supported and promoted,” he charged.
For his part, Olaosebikan stated that in addition to his committee’s absolute commitment to securing a minimum of 95 percent of Oyo’s vote for Tinubu, his committee would also ensure that Oyo State would score 18 out of 18 in the presidential election on 25 November. february.
He noted that the APC’s victory in the first round of elections would make it quite easy to win the gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections in Oyo.
“It is very evident that APC will win all the elections in the next general election in Oyo State. This is what we are working for and it is achievable. On February 25 it will be 18 for us and zero for the other parties.
“We will win the presidency, the three Senate seats and the 14 seats in the House of Representatives. We have the best candidates with deep credentials and backgrounds,” he said.
