“Let us put religion aside; I’m Christian.
“Did you ever think that one day a Christian-Christian candidate would emerge?
“What would be the reference point? We have tried the Muslim-Christian pairing, let’s try this one too and after four years they don’t do well, you can kick them out,” she said.
She said that the Nigerian election should not be about faith but about voting for a candidate who fears God.
“When you have a God fearing person, not a Christian or Catholic or Muslim person, but a God fearing person. When a God-fearing man is in power, he will treat you well.” she said.
Tinubu, who noted that she had served Nigeria as the wife of a governor and senator, assured the women that they would form a significant percentage of the Tinubu/shettima administration.
“This is working time for Nigeria. We are not playing. Women, we will remember you and I can assure you that Asiwaju will surely remember you.
“The Tinubu/Shettima have a great package for our youth. We will sit down and work with each region on their needs.” He also assured the women.
He stressed that the election was about a renewed hope for a safe, progressive and possible country, with investment in entrepreneurship and human capital.
In your comments, Governor Hope Uzodimma she urged women in the southeast to make a wise decision when voting for the APC presidential candidate.
Uzodimma said: “I have decided to embark on political evangelism. I will continue preaching. I will continue speaking to my people so that their eyes shine because this is the moment for us to make vital decisions.
“We have decided that you better be in a united Nigeria.
“A united Nigeria will better accommodate the Ndigbo people.
“The geographic strength in the southeast is not enough to accommodate us,” said the governor.
He said that most of the successful men and women from the south-east have their businesses in Lagos and Abuja, who would not want to experience derelict properties like after the civil war.
“I’m talking about positive change in the Southeast. We must no longer talk about ourselves for the sake of our children, brothers and sisters.
“It is clear that we have decided to be an integral part of Nigeria,” added.
The governor said that the party in the area was running a unified campaign for all the party’s candidates.
Also, wife of Governor Hope Uzodimma, Mrs. Chioma Uzodimma, she recalled that the women had come together in October 2022 for a million-dollar march for the APC presidential candidate and his running mate.
She reiterated the determination of the women of the southeast to ensure the party’s victory in the February 25 elections.
“APC’s administration under President Muhammadu Buhari has generated more dividends than any other government in our democracy in the south-east.
“The facts are there and we know that handing over to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who has a clear and proven track record of countless achievements in Lagos, will bring even more prosperity to our people.
“We are confident in his ability and courage to build on the achievements of this current administration and make up for any flaws, rebuild, modify and improve on the foundations already laid in the vision of creating a Nigeria that works for all.” she noticed.
The governor’s wife, who described Tinubu as the best candidate for this race, also assured that the presidential candidate would protect the interests of women if elected.
“I am talking about the gospel of a renewed hope where our interests as women in society are fully protected.
“Without doubt, the APC has proven to be very accommodating to women and a Tinubu presidency promises the social inclusion and political empowerment of women by promoting legislation ensuring female employment in all government offices, military and agencies.
“The goal is to increase women’s participation in government to at least 35 percent of all government positions.
“Such legislations will also oblige the federal executive, particularly the cabinet and top senior advisers, to reserve a minimum number of senior positions for women and private institutions will be strongly encouraged to do the same.” she stressed.
She tasked the women with encouraging people to get their permanent voter cards and mobilize votes for the party in elections.
