High Chief Government Ekpemukpolor aka Tompolo has donated 458 single-seat desks worth millions of Naira to Nigeria Maritime University (NMU), Okerenkoko, South West Warri Local Government Area of Delta State .
The donation is to allow the institution to compete with other world-class universities.
By making the donation to the institution on his behalf, the executive secretary of the Tompolo Foundation, Dr. Paul Bebenimibo, stated that it is to help the institution meet the seating challenge faced by the school’s cadets.
“Tompolo is a strategic partner of the NMU that implements measures to allow the institution to compete well with other world-class universities,” he said.
According to him, “Tompolo Foundation is presenting 458 individual desks worth millions of Naira to the University” and thanked the staff for cooperating with the University management.
In response, NMU Vice Chancellor Okerenkoko Professor Emmanuel Adigio praised Tompolo for the donation, saying that he has always been helpful in solving the school’s problems.
He said that Tompolo bought many chairs at the school and revealed that he will soon complete a structure at the institution.
Adigio, who revealed that relevant government agencies have duly accredited all 13 of the university’s programs, expressed his delight that the institution’s pioneering graduates are currently observing its mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program across the country.
