The Labor Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi, has urged Nigerians to throw out the main political parties, which claim to have structures.

Obi, speaking in Osogbo, Osun state, on Saturday at his party’s presidential campaign rally, also said ethnic and religious reasons should not be considered by voters in next month’s poll.

The LP presidential candidate, who was obviously attacking the Congress of All Progressives and the Peoples’ Democratic Party, vowed to fight corruption.

He added that he and his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, had been successful businessmen before entering the civil service.

He also said: “Nigerians are hungry, young people are jobless. Today it is not safe to travel anywhere in Nigeria. All of these challenges are brought about by those who claim to have partisan structures. But these structures have paralyzed Nigeria. I want you and me to destroy these structures by removing them next month.

“We are going to secure and unite Nigeria. We want Nigeria to be proud to be a Nigerian. We will deliver a safe Nigeria. We don’t want Nigerians to be in IDP camp, we don’t want you to be a slave in your own country.

“We are going to rule this country with the fear of God. We will give you work. We will change Nigeria from a consumer country to a producer country. These people kept bragging about having structures. However, they are not doing anything. They are not producing anything in this state, the youth are unemployed, we will change these challenges”.
