Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has approved a 9-man management committee for the Yobe Desert Stars, the state football club.
This was revealed in a statement issued on Monday by Buni’s spokesman, Mamman Mohammed, who also indicated that the creation of the committee followed a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the state government and the Blue Wall football club to promote the club.
The statement reported that the new management has Dr. Habu Abdulrahman Ago (also known as FIFA) as interim president; Divine Benjamin Ogbonaya, General Manager; Musa Mohammed Jankoli, team manager and lawyer MB Yusuf, as legal adviser to the team.
Others are Kwaghzever Terfa Morris, Team Coordinator; Hassan Dauda, Referee Coordinator; Ahmed Babi, TMS Secretary/Officer; Obi Ifeanyi Chukwu Emmanuel, Media Officer and Audu Ibrahim Masaya as Team Accountant.
The statement added that the Commissioner of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Social Development will act as Grand Patron, while the President of the Sports Committee of the Chamber, Special Adviser to His Excellency in Sports and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Development Social must serve as Patrons.
“The operation and functioning of the club will be subject to the agreement signed in the MoU by the two parties,” he said.
