The Zamfara state government anti-bullying committee has asked its new members to respect the law.

Committee chairman Bello Bakyasuwa made the appeal while addressing recruits in Gusau on Monday.

Bakyasuwa said the committee was established by Governor Bello Matawalle under Executive Order No. II to fight political bullying, drug abuse and related crimes across the state.

He asked them to operate in accordance with the law and order established by the committee.

According to him, since the creation of the committee, the activities of political vandalism and drug abuse have drastically reduced in the state.

He said the recruiting was to expand the committee’s activities to all 14 local government areas in the state.

“So far, we have recruited and trained more than 2,000 people, including men and women in the first batch.

“Recruitment is ongoing, we are targeting more than 4,000 new employees,” he said.

Bakyasuwa asked them to be good ambassadors for the committee, for the Zamfara government and for Nigeria in general.

“I appeal to you to always commit yourself to your duties in the fight against bullying.

“You must be dedicated, transparent and patient for us to achieve the desired goals,” he added.
