A prayer summit replaced the Nigerian Farmers Association’s annual festival on Sunday following fresh attacks in Kagoro Chiefdom, Kaura local government area in Kaduna state.

Speaking earlier at his palace in Kagoro, Kagoro Chief Dr. Ufuwai Bonet says his people now live in fear as attackers have vowed to invade their communities again.

In his remarks during the prayer summit, the country director of the Global Peace Foundation—Nigeria, the Rev. John Joseph Hayab, said the program was organized to embarrass the enemy and encourage people not to lose hope in their search for a lasting peace. .
He explained that the Foundation, which is a non-sectarian, non-partisan, and non-profit organization, is “working with the community to promote an innovative, values-based approach to peacebuilding, guided by the vision of One Family under God. ”
Similarly, the Chieftains’ Peace Committee Chairman, Mr. Sule Kambai, thanked the people for agreeing to come out en masse to pray for the land, despite recent attacks in the area that resulted in the deaths of many souls.

Speaking on the sidelines of the event to replace the annual AFAN festival on Sunday, the lawmaker representing the Kaura constituency in the National Assembly also urged the government to increase security presence in the area to prevent further attacks.
