Awka, Anambra – In its bid to secure the victory of the PDP in the elections on February 25, 2023, the Presidential Campaign Committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State has launched a grassroots campaign project, called “One District, Minimum of Thousand Votes”.

At a press conference in Awka, the capital of Anambra state, on Sunday, January 15, the director general of the state’s Atiku/Okowa Presidential Management Committee, Obiora Okonkwo, said the party is working hard to win Anambra and the Southeast as always.

Legit.ng Anambra regional reporter Mokwugwo Solomon quoted Okonkwo as saying that the PDP and the presidential campaign committee are confident of victory in the upcoming presidential election, as they always have in Anambra State and South East generally.

He said:

“We took the ‘One District, Minimum 1,000 Votes’ campaign to all 326 districts in Anambra State to make the ‘Win As Always’ campaign theme practical and impactful. With the inauguration of neighborhood and polling station counts, Launching officially on January 18, our gospel of recovery will be preached to every available Anambra voter.”

Okonkwo noted that the party’s canvassers would serve as the party’s apostles, who would preach the gospel of the recovery and rescue agenda to every Anambra constituency.

He acknowledged that the Atiku/Okowa Anambra State Presidential Management Committee has many converts for the party and is still making inroads into every hard-to-reach area which is necessary for the victory of the party and its presidential candidate.

“The PDP in Anambra will win as always, but this time by wide margins as the campaign committee is targeting a significant percentage increase from previous victories in the state. The PDP is working hard to harness and garner the popular votes.” of the 2.5 million registered voters in the state.

“Since the inauguration of the campaign council and management committee, both led by Senator Ben Ndi Obi and my humble self (Okonkwo), we have put together a template called ‘Win Like Usual’ to inspire supporters and stakeholders of the PDP, and to increase the acceptance of the party in Anambra and the South East in general.

“With the success of the ‘Win As Usual’ template, we believe it is time to raise awareness among our people in rural (grassroots) areas to capitalize on the appeal and popularity that the PDP and our party’s presidential candidate enjoy. among the Anambra people, and the Igbo people in general,” he added.

He expressed optimism that Atiku Abubakar and his running mate Ifeanyi Okowa will win Anambra under the “One District, Minimum 1,000 Votes” campaign bill; which she said, is expected to complement the ‘Win As Always’ which will be rolled out in all 326 precincts and 5,720 polling places, from January 18, 2023 to January 22, 2023.

“In 2019, Atiku and the PDP coveted 84% of the total vote in Anambra. In 2023, the party and its presidential candidate hope to acquire 10 to 15 percent more. Nigerians yearn for the PDP to return to power. We in Anambra State and the South East are not far behind. We want the PDP back, and Atiku Abubakar’s recovery plan is sacrosanct,” the DG concluded.
