Kano, Kano- The Kano state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) welcomed 10,000 defectors from different political parties to the ruling party ahead of next month’s presidential election.
According to Vanguard newspapers, these defectors were received and revealed by Umma Salama Isyaka Rabiu, daughter of prominent Islamic scholar Sheikh Isyaka Rubiu.
legit.ng They gathered that his inauguration was announced on Sunday, January 29 in Kano at a special event where women were urged to support the candidacy of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC presidential standard-bearer.

The 10,000 defectors were compiled to comprise former members of the PDP, NNPP, ADP, ADC, PRP and many others.
“As you can see today, these people are here today to outline the unity and progress of APC as the only party in Nigeria. The party that has the interest of the people, the party that wants to continue to improve Nigeria and the party that loves Nigeria and Nigerians”.
At the event, an intriguing moment was captured as 5,000 members of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) took off their red berets to denounce their membership and pledge support for the APC and Tinubu’s presidential campaign.

In another development, the vice president of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos state, Otunba Amid Adekunle Oduborisha, has switched to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Oduborisha officially joined the ruling APC at a rally in the Ikorodu area of the state on Sunday, January 8.
The former PDP leader said he joined the APC to support the presidential ambition of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the ruling party’s presidential candidate.
