A former Sokoto state governor and leader of the state’s All Progressives Congress, Aliyu Wamakko, revealed that APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu was brought in to ensure the country’s unity is maintained.

Wamakko said this while addressing the leaders of the resident communities and the Obas council in the state, who paid him a sympathy visit at his home in Gawon Nama in Sokoto.

Wamakko, welcoming the two groups, said Nigeria is one indivisible nation, adding: “Therefore, Sokoto is home to all tribes, regardless of where they come from.”

He said that “Nigeria is for all of us, hence the need to come together and work for a better tomorrow.”

Senator Wamakko explained that when he was governor of the state, he abolished what were then called school fees for non-indigenous people in the state.

He further revealed that he also appointed one of them to serve as his special adviser in his government just to make sure they were brought along.

He assured them that APC would consider them in their affairs if they are given the mandate for the 2023 elections.

Meanwhile, the council of obas and resident communities in Sokoto state had thrown their weight behind the All Progressives Congress candidates in the state.

Speaking during his visit, Obas Council Chairman Alhaji Surajudeen Sahabi, who spoke on behalf of the association, informed the senator that they, for their part, were ready to work together with APC leaders to ensure the success of the party. . 2023 elections in Nigeria, notably the party’s presidential candidate, Tinubu and the APC’s gubernatorial candidate in Sokoto state, Ahmed Sokoto, among other party candidates.

Similarly, the Sokoto State Residents Community Association, under the leadership of Alhaji Salmanu Oke, explained to Wamakko that they came to register their unwavering support to support APC during the upcoming elections.

He further revealed that the community of residents in the state would not forget the invaluable gestures given to them by the administration when Wamakko was governor.

During the visit, the representatives of the different Yoruba, Igbo, Tiv and Hausa tribes, among others, were able to speak in their languages ​​as a sign of a single nation.

The visit was attended by the APC Northwest Zonal Secretary, Lawyer Bello Muhammad Goronyo and some important party leaders in the state.
