What the NBA said: According to the statement, the association would also oversee the trial of deputy superintendent of police, Drambi Vandiwho allegedly shot and killed the lawyer in the Ajah area of Lagos on Christmas Day.
Adegboruwa said that in a bid to ensure speedy justice for the murdered lawyer, the Lagos NBA branch together with NBA President Mr. YC MikyauSAN, decided to be part of the persecution of the trigger-happy cop
“The NBA is also seeking monetary compensation for the family of Ms. Raheem from the Lagos State Government, the Federal Government, and indeed the Nigerian Police Force and Police Service Commission, through their Human Rights Committee.
“The NBA will seek damages of no less than five billion naira in addition to the prosecution of the murderous policeman.”
What has been going on: There has been public outrage over the murder of the lawyer who was shot returning from a Christmas outing on Sunday.

Also, Representative Ibrahim Babajide Obanikoro of the Eti-Osa constituency, filed a motion to investigate the circumstances that led to the murder of lawyer Bolanle Raheem and prosecute the officers involved in order to obtain justice and prevent officers from drinking alcohol while on duty.
