Ahead of the 2023 general election, Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji; and his predecessor, Kayode Fayemi, have called for support for the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

The Nigerian news agency reported that they made the call on Tuesday during the annual Christmas gathering of APC leaders and stakeholders hosted by Fayemi at his Isan-Ekiti country house.

Fayemi, a former presidential hopeful and currently special foreign affairs adviser to the APC presidential candidate, said the state and indeed the country had much to gain if the APC retained the presidency with Tinubu at its helm.

He expressed optimism that the state would witness further development if the party could win all the state and National Assembly seats.

Fayemi said that this could only be possible through a massive mobilization of support for the party’s candidates.

The former governor, who described Tinubu as a resourceful political leader and strategist, said the former Lagos state governor had the experience, exposure and ability to lead the country successfully.

“Therefore, I seek massive votes for all APC candidates for state and national assembly seats, and also ensure that APC presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Tinubu emerges as the next president of the country,” he said. Fayemi.

Contributing, Oyebanji explained that the APC showcases the best candidates for all elective posts, saying that the choice of Tinubu as the country’s next president is non-negotiable.

It assured the people more democracy dividends with Tinubu as the next president with APC having the majority of the members of the National Assembly and APC retaining all 26 seats in Ekiti’s Assembly.

“We are prepared as a party and we have the best candidates and we are just waiting for the coronation that comes in February.

“We are optimistic that Nigerians will massively vote for us. We will also mobilize massively for our candidates,” she said.
