As the 2023 elections approach, the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party PDP in Nasarawa state has sounded the alarm about voter fraud in the state.

This was contained in a statement signed by the party’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ibrahim Hamza.

According to the statement, the PDP Directorate in the state has alleged that it received a report that some government officials are collecting the voter identification numbers found on the permanent voter cards, PVCs of retirees in a form designed by government agents. in the state as a condition for the payment of your pension and gratuities.

“To say the least, this is a sad and unfortunate development, given the fact that this group of people sacrificed their productive years to effectively serve their homeland, and now needed the love, protection, respect, and care of the government. just to be treated this way, this is the most inhumane and unconstitutional.

“It is pertinent to point out that the payment of pensions and bonuses to retired workers is not a privilege but a right to their right. So for some government officials to start initiating partisan policies regarding pay is very disheartening.

“To this end, the Nasarawa State People’s Democratic Party PDP wants to use this medium to condemn the act in its entirety and urge INEC and all relevant security agencies to pursue the perpetrators and their sponsors, arrest and prosecute them. to serve as a deterrent. to another, while retirees are advised to resist this ugly temptation.

“This is a clear manifestation and the handiwork of the enemies of democracy and Nigeria in their attempt to thwart, manipulate and disrupt the electoral process and manipulate their way to power through dubious means.” the statement said.

Meanwhile, Nigerian Pensioners Union Nasarawa State Chapter Chairman Abdullahi Baba said the APC in Nasarawa State has a platform for support groups, and pensioners who are interested are free to sign up.

He said part of the process was to register by filling out a form that will ask you to submit your PVC number.

Adding that no condition is placed on it because it is voluntary for any interested pensioner. “Among all of the many APC advocacy groups, including civil servants, why is the PDP so particular about enrolling retirees in the advocacy group?

“It is solely our initiative as interested retirees to join the support group. No government agent or state pension office is involved in our political affairs.” He noticed.
