The Federal Government, through the Office of the Head of the Federation Civil Service, has noted that the implementation of a new employee performance management system that has been approved by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (ret. ), will begin in January 2023.

This was revealed in a memorandum signed by the HCSF, Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan.

The memo marked, ‘HCSF/CMO/PMD/035/1/18’ was addressed to ministers, heads of agencies, departments and parastatals.

The memorandum reads in part: “As part of efforts to reposition the Service for efficient and effective service delivery, the President has directed that the Office of the Chief of the Federation Civil Service must initiate employees

Performance Management System in the Federal Public Service to replace the Annual Performance Evaluation Report effective as of January 1, 2023.

“To this end, the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation has developed the following tools to guide the implementation of the new evaluation system in Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

“Federal Public Function Performance Management System Policy;

Guidelines on the Performance Management System of the Federal Public Service;

Comprehensive Framework of Competences of the Federal Public Service; and Template for the development of Job Descriptions for Positions in MDA.
