The Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, revealed this in a statement on Tuesday.

Adeseye noted that the tanker had lost control while in motion, causing it to fall on its side and spill its contents, adding that efforts to rescue the trapped man were ongoing.

She said: “The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Agency is currently rescuing a 33,000-litre tanker truck carrying petrol at Mile 2 which reportedly accidentally lost control while on the move and fell on its side, spilling thus its content in Alaba Express Bus Stop. , Apapa Oshodi Highway, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos.

“The incident is being mitigated by the Agency’s Ajegunle Fire Brigade and has it under control with no palpable cause for alarm.

“However, an adult motorcyclist is trapped under the tanker while efforts are underway to recover him.”
