Former Governor Segun Oni of Ekiti has denied working to update the presidential candidacy of Senator Bola Tinubu, the All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate in the upcoming 2023 general election.

This is contained in a statement by the Director of Media and Publicity, Segun Oni Campaign Organization, Mr. Jackson Adebayo, on Friday in Ado-Ekiti.

Oni, who was the Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate in the last gubernatorial election in Ekiti, described a statement credited to Mr. Oyetunde Ojo and South West Agenda (SWAGA) of working with former Governor Ayo Fayose to update Tinubu. He bids presidential as “a very dishonest statement and a cheap lie.”

He said there was nothing that could make him work for Tinubul, claiming that Tinubu’s fingerprints were so evident in the last fraudulent Ekiti gubernatorial election.

Oni said that unlike Osun, his legal team was not granted access to inspect the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines used despite Court orders on INEC twice.

The former SDP gubernatorial candidate said that was on top of previous election thefts and judicial injustices planned against him by the same person in recent years.

Oni warned that people should not exceed their tolerance, adding that he could imagine whatever would cause the issuer of the statement to group him (Oni) with Fayose in the business of running such errands.
