west ham they are genuinely interested in signing Lorient striker Terem Moffi and have started negotiations, as reported by journalist Ryan Taylor.
The Daily Express journalist assured on his YouTube channel (January 11; 21.11) that the French club is also willing to do business this month.
However, there is a huge gap between Lorient’s asking price and what Premier League clubs are willing to offer at the moment.
“In terms of West Ham’s interest in Moffi, I think they have carried out negotiations to sign the player,” Taylor said.
“But at the same time there is a differentiation of the price that Lorient is looking for and the one that West Ham is willing to pay.
“Lorient is really willing to do business. They are looking for between £20m and £25m for the striker. Premier League clubs are willing to pay around £15m.”
West Ham bolstered their forward department in the summer by signing Gianluca Scamacca, but it seems David Moyes is still looking to bolster the forward department.
Scamacca needs more time to adjust to the rhythm of the league, but he is improving. Michail Antonio has not been at his best this season, but the club has managed it very well considering his age.
Antonio has been linked this week with a move to Wolves. Moyes would be reluctant to sell him, but it depends entirely on how much Wolves are willing to pay for the striker.
Moffi has scored 10 goals in 16 appearances for the French club in Ligue 1 this season.
The Nigerian striker has scored belts in the French league and put in a terrific performance in a 2-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain on November 6.
He literally intimidated PSG defenders with his pace and strength. He is an excellent finisher and it remains to be seen if the Hammers can improve on him and reach an agreement with Lorient to sign him.
