Rumuji-Odegwe, Rivers State – Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has provided information on the preferred presidential candidate he and his allies will support in the upcoming election.

Wike, who is the arrowhead of the G5 governors, said that the individual must have the quality to keep his words and will not breach any agreement signed with them.

The Nation reported that the Governor of Rivers State made this known on Wednesday, January 18 in the town of Rumuji-Odegwe, where Rivers’ chapter of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) held a rally to kick off their campaign in the Emohua Local Government Area.

legit.ng collects that Wike told a PDP stalwart, Sergeant Ohna Awuse, who earlier stated that party stalwarts in the state were eagerly awaiting his directive on the presidential election, to exercise patience.

Governor Wike also told PDP leaders at the rally that he would soon conclude negotiations with his political allies and inform them of his decision.

He insisted that the Rivers State will play a frontline role in deciding who becomes the next president of Nigeria.

The Rivers state governor added that he had been patiently waiting for those who threatened to oust him from the PDP to carry out their threat.

Meanwhile, earlier reports indicate that Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde is expected to lead Atiku Abubakar’s presidential campaign rally in Ibadan.

In what seems like a shocking development, Governor Makinde, who is a member of the G5 cabal of governors led by Governor Wike, had been in a serious dispute with the PDP bannerman.

As the Nigerian Tribune reported, former Oyo State Lieutenant Governor Hazeem Gbolarumi, who is a bitter rival of the incumbent, will also be present at the upcoming presidential rally.
